Our annual picnic meeting took place on Saturday, September 09, 2017 at Denver's Genesee Park on Genesee Mountain. Two hours before the picnic KFØUR and W8KS activated the nearby peak (about 1/2 mile by trail from the picnic area) for SOTA. Shel and Pete worked nearly two dozen stations on 20 meter phone and CW using their KX3 and KX2 transceivers, respectively!   Immediately after the picnic ABØCD, WBØJNR, and KØFRP operated two meters from the summit with handhelds - working WØEX on the north side of Fort Collins for a line-of-sight distance of almost 120 kilometres (75 miles!) using only 5 Watts and stock hand-held antennas! Overall it was a great picnic with nice weather for a fun gathering - see you next year! - WBØ'JNR
